Information about the institution Zuyd University is a university of applied sciences, located in the cities of Heerlen, Maastricht and Sittard-Geleen in the southern part of the Netherlands. With more than 13,500 students, it is one of the larger universities of applied sciences in the country. Because of its geographical location near the Belgian and German borders, Zuyd University has a strong international focus. Information about the institution Hanze University Groningen is a University of Applied Sciences with more than 2,600 employees and over 24,000 Dutch and foreign students who are enrolled in one of the seventy degree programmes in the fields of economics, technology, health care, education and teacher training, social work, labour relations, fine arts, and music. Hanze University Groningen is one of the largest and most all-round universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands. Research at Hanze University Groningen pivots around the professorships. The professors conduct applied research, develop knowledge in close cooperation with professional practice and create new Master programmes. Hanze University Groningen has a strong international focus and offers a wide range of programmes in English. Currently about 1,700 foreign students are enrolled in a bachelor or master degree programme or a certificate programme. On top of that, many exchange students come to Hanze University Groningen for a semester or an academic year. One of the most important characteristics of Hanze University Groningen is its emphasis on developing the practical skills that are so important in the future professions of our graduates. The degree programmes, therefore, include mandatory work placements or traineeships and a large number of practical assignments. The educational approach is characterized by problem-based learning. Students are required to work in project groups and are given a lot of personal attention and feed-back. Our buildings are fully equipped to facilitate this new way of learning. Hanze University Groningen has a large International Student Office which assists foreign students with various practical matters, such as: the application and admission procedure, finding accommodation in Groningen, obtaining a visa, residence and/or work permit, and getting adequate insurance.

It is one of the largest institutions in the Netherlands. It has six faculties and over 33.000 students (including 900 international students). The HU prepares students for a range of careers across six principal themes: Communication & Journalism, Economics & Management (Business School), Education, Health Care, Natural Sciences & Technology and Society & Law. It offers 80 bachelor's programmes and 23 master's programmes. Hogeschool Utrecht offers four English-taught bachelor's programmes, three in business administration and one in communication, as well as two English-taught master's of communication programmes. The courses are geared towards the practical aspects of the disciplines and the teaching is competence-based with the emphasis on professional skills and work placements.

Information about the institution The technological designer programmes of the 3TU School for Technological Design, Stan Ackermans Institute were initiated at the request of the Dutch high-tech industry. High-tech companies need professionals who can design and develop complex new products and processes and offer innovative solutions. All programmes work closely together with high-tech industry, offering the trainees the opportunity to participate in large-scale, interdisciplinary design projects under industrial circumstances. With this unique cooperation we provide our trainees with a valuable network of contacts in industry. Stan Ackermans Institute has ten two-year full-time programmes, leading to a Professional Doctorate in Engineering (PDEng). Our programmes offer the opportunity to broaden your knowledge and experience by means of a personal and practical design assignment, under the supervision of experienced design professionals. You will be appointed for the duration of the programme for a maximum of two years. You will also become a member of the scientific staff of the TU/e, TU Delft or TU Twente and receive a salary.
