WICE (World Leisure International Centre of Excellence) is a collaborative endeavour of the World Leisure Organisation (www.worldleisure.org) and Wageningen University in the Netherlands. WICE started its activities in 1990, and has administered the MSc in Leisure, Tourism and Environment at Wageningen University (WUR) since 2002, together with the Chair Group Social-spatial Analysis of WUR (www.wu.nl/msc).
The programme is international and cross-cultural. More than 250 faculty members participate in the global network of WICE. Many of them lecture in the programme, thereby bringing together an extraordinarily broad range of academic experience. The mission of this programme is to bring students and academics from all parts of the world together in a multicultural setting. The students come from all over the world and the number of students varies from 20 to 40 every year. This means the MSc functions as a unique international initiative relevant for the future career of the students.
In addition to the MSc, WICE delivers refresher courses and short courses on demand, in Latin America, Asia, and Africa.
