In this reclaimed area, the polder province of Flevoland, about 1,300 professionals prepare for their careers in the knowledge domains of Food Production, Trade and Logistics, Leisure and Animal Management and Rural and Urban Environments. The international courses are just as varied, with students arriving from many countries worldwide. Every year 150 students with some 20 different nationalities live and work together on campus in Dronten. The English-language degree courses train for Chain Management, Agri (Food) Business, EU Studies and Structural Funds Management, as well as technological studies in Biotechnology, Horticulture and Animal Science. Education at DUAS is competency based; students have to show the competencies they have gained during studies in a "proof of proficiency". An example of such a proof of proficiency can be a quality management advise for a food processing company, in case of the chain management course. Entrepreneurs, consultants, policy makers and others from the world of work are involved in the assessment of the proof of proficiency. Students finalise their studies with a 3,5 months placement and thesis work, in The Netherlands or anywhere else in the world. After graduation, it will take the student 1 to 1,5 years to obtain an MSc degree.

Information about the institution INHOLLAND University of Applied Sciences is an ambitious institution of higher education in the western part of the Netherlands. Its vibrant learning and working community and particularly its scale is ideal for students who are keen to develop their theoretical knowledge as well as their practical skills. Offering competence-based learning, INHOLLAND University of Applied Sciences is professionally involved both with the student, the market and society as a whole. In order to develop the quality of all higher education programmes it offers, INHOLLAND has many strategic cooperation agreements with educational institutions within the Netherlands and with more than 60 universities and higher education institutions abroad. It also has a 50 percent share in the Nyenrode Business School. The campus sites all have excellent ICT facilities and state-of-the-art purpose-built accommodation. A large number of lectors conduct applied research in a range of fields. An increasing number of INHOLLAND graduates are now working for international organisations. The best way to prepare students for their future careers in today's international environment is to familiarise them with it during their degree programme. Every year, some 450 INHOLLAND students participate in exchange programmes to one of the 60 universities with which we have cooperation agreements. Another 450 foreign students are warmly welcomed during their exchange programmes at INHOLLAND.
