Maastricht University has approximately 12,000 students, of which 37% comes from abroad. The total number of staff is approximately 3500, of which 15% has a foreign nationality. On 1 January 2010 the International Institute for Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) became the sixth faculty of the University of Twente. The Faculty provides international postgraduate education, research and project services in the field of geo-information science and earth observation using remote sensing and GIS. The aim of ITC’s activities is the international exchange of knowledge, focusing on capacity building and institutional development in developing countries and emerging economies. The University of Twente is the only campus university in the Netherlands. Here 3,000 faculty and staff and 10,000 students work and unwind in the beautiful green park-like grounds, supported by top facilities for research and teaching as well as for sports and culture.
